HOTT Lists
As everyone else seems to
have a page of lists, here is mine. I have quite a lot of figures so do not
tend to stick to set lists for long (especially when I lose).
Goblins
|
Ashnag’s Wyvern Riders |
|
|
Ashnag in Chariot |
Knight General |
|
Orc Wyvern Riders |
3 Dragons |
|
Orcs |
10 Hordes |
Dragons
work well in threes, because it costs the same to deploy one dragon as it does
to deploy three.
This army is especially good for HOTT campaigns, since dragons usually flee rather than die, so are available straight away for the next battle.
All these troops are available in 10mm for Warmaster, but my army is genuine 15mm and uses the following figures:
Orc chariot pulled by wolves. (Tin Soldier)
Orcs mounted on wyverns. (Tabletop Games)
Hordes. (Essex & Tin Soldier)
|
Mordwath War Host |
|
|
High chieftain with
guard |
Blade General |
|
Orc guard |
2 Blades |
|
Orc champion |
1 Hero |
|
Orc archers |
4 Shooters |
|
Orcs |
4 Hordes |
|
Bats |
1 Flyers |
This is a more usual Orc/Goblin army. The army is 15mm and the figures used are:
Blades: Tin Soldier giant goblin guard halberdiers
Hero: Essex orc with glaive.
Shooters: Mixture of Essex, Tin Soldier and Chariot orc archers.
Hordes: Mixture of Essex and Tin Soldier orcs.
Bats: I can’t remember where these came from.
Here are links for these manufacturers:

Heroic Warrior Women |
2 Heros |
|
Warrior Spearwomen |
3 Spears |
|
Beastmistresses with War
Dogs |
2 Beasts |
|
Naked male slaves |
3 Hordes |
This army belongs to my daughter, Alexandra Zenobia. Sadly she seems to have lost interest in it as she has got older. We shall use it as one of our pool armies at Berkeley.

The Army of Mittelmark |

|
Graf von Mittelmark |
Knight general |
|
Antigravity boats |
2 Airboats |
|
Knights |
2 Knights |
|
Spearmen |
4 Spears |
|
Crossbowmen |
2 Shooters |
An army from one of our club campaigns. The air boats are made from Irregular Miniatures 6mm ships with 15mm crew. The ships are raised up on upside-down Humbrol tins painted electric blue to represent the anti-grav field.

The Great Company |
|
|
Werner von Ürslingen |
Knight general |
|
Fra Moriale, Conrad of Landau
or Hannekin Bongarten |
2 Heros |
|
Barbute |
2 Knights |
|
Crossbowmen |
3 Shooters |
|
Fiends of Hell (Flying
Demons) |
2 Flyers |
This is a semi-historical army list for the Great Company, a mercenary company operating in Italy in the mid 14th century. Its leader, Werner Duke of Ürslingen, had the device "The Enemy of God, of Goodness and of Mercy" on his silver breastplate. The condition of the country over which his forces passed testified to their adherence to their leader’s motto. “Nothing was to be seen but slaughters, plunders and burnings. So that except a very few places of strength, there was not a town or village which was secured from suffering and miserable destruction.”

Borgia Papal |
|
|
Pope Alexander VI (Rodrigo
Borgia) |
Cleric general |
|
Cesare Borgia |
1 Hero |
|
Airboat (one of Leonardo’s
less well-known inventions) |
1 Airboat |
|
Papal guard halberdiers |
3 Blades |
|
Crossbowmen |
4 Shooters |
Another semi-historical army, celebrating the ruthless
Borgia family. Alternatives for this army would include Lucrezia Borgia
(sneaker), hired murderers (sneakers), elmeti (plate-armoured knights), mounted
crossbowmen (riders), bombards (artillery), Leonardo’s turtle car (behemoth),
Leonardo’s flying machine (flyer), Roman militia (hordes), Roman bravos
(lurkers), mercenary pikemen (spears) or more clerics.

Semi-Historical Welsh |
|
|
Llywelyn ap Iorweth, Llywelyn
ap Gruffydd or Owain Glyndwr |
Hero general |
|
Other uchelwr (minor prince) |
1 Hero |
|
Other uchelwr (minor prince) |
1 Hero or Paladin |
|
South Welsh archers |
3 Shooters |
|
North Welsh spearmen |
6 Hordes or 3 Spears |
I think hordes may be the better classification for the largely shieldless Welsh spearmen.
Undead
|
Count Drahcir |
|
|
Count Drahcir |
Aerial Hero general |
|
Stirges |
2 Flyers |
|
Wolves |
4 Beasts |
|
Living dead |
6 Hordes |
I am currently trying to obtain a 15mm Vampire for this army. It appears that no manufacturer makes one, so I will have to substitute some other sinister-looking figure. I don’t know what manufacturer made the stirges, or even what scale they are intended for. I bought them from a bring and buy stall. They are nice and horrible (with bats wings, human upper faces and long blood sucking beaks). The wolves are from Tin Soldier. The living dead are skeleton warriors from Essex.

Goblin Dragon Lords (72 AP) |

|
Command 1 |
Command 2 |
Command 3 |
|
1 Aerial Hero (Wyvern
Rider) |
1 Aerial Hero (Wyvern

1 Aerial Hero (Wyvern
Rider) |
|
1 Knight C-in-C (Wolf
Chariot) |
1 Shooter General (Archers) |
1 Rider General (Wolf
Riders) |
|
1 Knight (Wolf Chariot) |
5 Goblin Shooters (Archers) |
3 Riders (Wolf Riders) |
|
4 Orc Guard Blades |
1 Goblin Magician (Shaman) |
4 Beasts (Wolves) |
|
10 Goblin Hordes |
|
|
This is a 72 AP goblin army on a wyvern-rider theme. It seems equally reasonable to classify wyvern riders as dragons or aerial heros.
